After a conversation with one of our pastors, becoming a member of St. John’s UMC can be done in one of two ways:
- By professing your faith publicly in Jesus Christ if you have never done so.
- Transferring your membership from another congregation, whether it is from another United Methodist Church or from another denomination.
In both cases, baptism is a requirement to joining the church. We believe that a person need only be baptized once in life, and we do not practice re-baptism. The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms performed in many Christian traditions.
