Women's Ministries

St. John's has a very active group of women. We invite you to join any of these groups any time!

  • Ladies in Fellowship Together (LIFT)

2nd Tuesdays of every month at 10:30am

See calendar for summer meeting schedule

LIFT is a group of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of service in our church and community. LIFT meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (except for June-August and December) at 10:00am. Each month we have fellowship, light refreshments, and a program. All ladies are welcome.

  • Women's Book CLUB

    2nd Saturdays at 9:30am

Each month a group of women meet and discuss a novel. The novels range in topic and include secular and non-secular books.

Please call the church office for info about the monthly book choice.

Book Club 10th Anniversary

SJUMC Women’s Book Club began reading in January 2009 when the, then, current best seller, The Shack by William Paul Young, was all the rage. A few women decided they wanted to read it and meet to discuss this fiction novel, depicting God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as modern day characters. An announcement was put in the church newsletter that we would meet on Saturday, February 9, 2009, at the church. More than 25 women joined the discussion that day. After we had thoroughly discussed The Shack, and were about to dismiss someone asked, “Well, what are we going to read next?” The decision was to read Francine River’s Redeeming Love. Almost every month since then a group has met to discuss a book currently read, and a whole lot of life.

Saturday, July 11, 2019 the book club met to celebrate this anniversary year. We enjoyed the celebration at Lois Vogelsang’s home. The pictures above show the ladies who were in attendance and our beautiful and festive book-shaped cake.
